Special Feature
Health Information in Haitian Creole and Provider Guidance on RHIN
A 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti on Tuesday afternoon, January 12, 2010, close to the nation's capital of Port-au-Prince. In the coming weeks and months, communications with individuals and communities affected by the earthquake, including those in the Haitian Diaspora within the United States, will be looking for health information in Haitian Creole, the predominant language of Haiti.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, half a million people born in Haiti live in the United States, with New York, Florida, and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, including Maryland and Virginia, among the larger communities. Since the earthquake, RHIN has received an increasing number of requests for materials in Haitian Creole. Through this new RHIN page, access to these materials will be streamlined. If you have produced, or know of materials that you do not find in our database, or have links to materials from our trusted partners, please contact us at info@rhin.org.
